Complete Property Renovation
We purchased this bungalow as a derelict building that had stood for about 9 years empty.
Structurally it was fine, having been given a clean bill of health by a qualified surveyor, however as you will see from the photos below, there was some serious growth to combat in the gardens, which had about 8 fully grown trees in the rear, some outbuildings and lots of vegetation.
The property is an ideal bungalow in an ideal location, which is the third we have renovated on this street alone.
We transformed the tired old original 1960’s bungalow into a compact, modern, extremely efficient and very easily maintained haven for the new owners.
We felled most of the overgrown trees and growth, cleared all of both gardens, then created a raised border at the rear with a footpath to a small lawn, which was edged by a slate hard area for a clothes line or planting.The garage was transformed with new windows and doors, the roof being asbestos of good condition was sealed with a latex coating and then finished in a grey acrylic polymer which seals the surface for years to come.A raised patio seating area was built and at the front, the existing timber porch was replaced with a modern cavity walled, double glazed build, which gave valuable useable storage for coats etc. The property had the added benefit of AAA rated Upvc windows and doors, and the walls were finished in cream painted render.Finally we laid a block pavior border to the driveway, which was then finished with tarmacadam. The front garden was landscaped for easy maintenance.
We removed the kitchen, bathroom, and all appliances, the property was fully rewired and a condensing combination boiler central heating system was installed. The kitchen incorporated a dining bar for 4 people, italian walnut worktops, dishwasher,double oven,built under fridge & freezer,double built in oven and microwave, and a gas hob with a stainless extractor above.All of the appliances used were of the highest quality. The compact bathroom boasted a large P shaped shower bath & screen, and a back to the wall sink and toilet which gave valuable storage.We added a glazed oak reception door, and finished the lounge off with a wall mounted remote control ‘living flame’ style feature fire.
